Blogs exist for many reasons ranging from personal use to online businesses to company blogs.  The basic difference between a company blog vs a online business is that a company blog is just that, a blog that is managed by a company that exists both online and offline.

Let’s look at what the benefits are:

Learn to write – Hands on experience goes far in your progress when blogging.  Learning to write online is far different than writing a book or paper.  Learning to write online also applies to copywriting.

Socialize online – For those who like to share online with others and are into gaming, music, sports, travel, food and other fun stuff.  This list can go on and on.

Your next move.

Learning to blog and after blogging for a while can lead you to other blogging related activities or efforts.  When I first started blogging, I just blogged about my running for the fun of it.  Had I never started for the fun of it, I’d probably not be blogging now.  Thus there would be no Timabeck.com.  You may decide to start a business online such as affiliate marketing as an example.  Like the little snowball going down a big hill, look out when it gets to the bottom.  Growth happens!

Promoting your brand.

Blogging is a great way to get the word out about what you are promoting.  As you become a person of influence, you’d be surprised the impact you’ll have.  People when they think of a particular subject, they’ll think “oh yeah, I know about such and such” and this kind of loyalty will grow on you.

Generate your own leads.

If you add the ability to collect email addresses, you thus start generating new leads which will have a huge impact on your efforts.  Do this right away.  Don’t put it off.  As soon as your blog is launched, start collecting email addresses.  These are your private audience that you alone control.  If you choose to monetize your blog, neglecting to put an Opt-In box for your readers email would only hurt your efforts.  Check out this article — > How To Boost Your Email List.

Helping others.

If what you are writing about helps others, then you’ll go far.  Income will be the least of your worries.  Be serious about what you are writing about.  If you want to be a person of influence, then you need to take things seriously.  If you’re only in it for the money, your readers will know.  Yes, bloggers who do blogging as a business, blog for the purpose of making money, but there’s a difference between that and only being in it for the money.  The quality of your effort will show through in your content.

Learn new things.

While you’re blogging, you’ll be doing a ton of research as you create your content.  As you do, you’ll learn a lot of what you are researching about.  This is imperative if you want to grow into a person of influence.  Don’t knock this as it’s vital for your growth.  You’d be surprised what you’ll learn on your journey.  What you start today may be totally different a few years down the road of time.  You need to learn, so you can educate others and the more knowledge you gain, the better you’ll become in attracting more traffic.
