While it’s true that affiliate marketing is one of the easiest ways to start an online business, you do have to put some work into it.  The nice thing is that you don’t have to create any products and many companies would rather pay their affiliates to promote their products.  One must keep in mind about The Three Most Important Blogging Success Factors when endeavoring with their affiliate marketing business.

You’ve heard it, want to be like the pro’s, then do what the pro’s are doing.

1)- Start with patients – You must first understand that money will not start flowing in right anyway and it will take a while.  If you keep this in mind and be long term minded, you’ll get there.  You must believe in your products and explain to your audience why they should try them out.  It’l be worth your wait as in the mean time consider how much money you’ll earn and determine how much time and effort you can devote to your business each day.  Lack of patients could lead you away from what could be an otherwise lucrative business down the road.

2)- Love what you do – Would you want to do affiliate marketing every day and not love what you are doing?  This is referring to the NICHE you choose.  Make sure it’s one that grabs you.  If you can’t poor yourself into it, why bother?  This will add and fuel the fire to your longevity.  Just choosing a niche based upon it’s popularity is a big mistake, you need to choose one that you know something about and can sink your teeth into.  This does make a difference.  You may not realize it, but your attitude about your niche will show up in your content.  Choose wisely and thrive.

3)- Email list – Get it going immediately.  No hesitation at all.  As soon as your blog or website is live, start collecting emails.  People will subscribe just out of curiosity about what you are promoting.  Yes, even before you have any products to promote, start collecting emails.  You want a full email list of your private audience to be successful. can help you with collecting emails, I highly recommend them.

Note:  The above three mentioned tips are foundational and you need to practice them from the start of your business.

4)- Always Research – Be in the know, research everything.  Never wing it with your content, as it will show in what you produce.  Let’s face it, we don’t know everything and the more research we do the better.  You need to research the products you promote as you may come across one that turns out to be a scam.  Your reputation is key and is on the line.  Know what you are promoting.

This is also good for when you get an email asking you a question about something you are promoting.  You’ll want to be prepared to provide the answers to them as quick as possible.

Your dependability is crucial especially when building trust with your readership.

5)- High quality content – You want to maintain a standard of high quality with your content and promotions.  Would you want to read less than high quality content?  If you can’t produce that level of content, consider hiring out and have a professional work with you.

Putting time into the research and designing your posts in an easy to read, eye catching format will go far in the posts your write.

6)- Product Reviews – This is another good one that our readers will appreciate.  I’ve done some and they are worthwhile to give.  This will also show your readers that you do know something about what you are promoting.  As your readers begin to depend and trust you, they will look for your recommendations on products and count on you.

7)- Keep it green – Evergreen is the way to go for the content and products you promote.  You don’t want to continue promoting products that become outdated and there are many out there that are.  This is one contributing reason why I went all affiliate marketing and stopped promoting digital products or PLR products.  You find yourself replacing or updating them after so many years.

With content, try keeping your posts on topics that would be true 5 to 10 years from now.  Being careful on any references made to time in the posts.

You want what you produce to being as close to evergreen as possible.

Person of influence

8)- Person of influence – This is your long-term goal to be a person of influence or the go-to person in the niche you are working in.  You’re building your reputation, relationships and a community of like-minded people.  You become someone that people can trust and draw information and inspiration from.

Consistency, dedication, & perseverance is the driving force to become successful at any business especially affiliate marketing.  What you know when you first start out, is significantly different 3, 5 10 years down the road.  Acquiring knowledge and skills as you go improves the foundation you started with in the beginning.  So, if you want to be a person of influence, this is why it takes time.
