The Three Most Important Blogging Success Factors

There are many important tips for bloggers to be concerned about in their blogging journey.  The trick is to know and use the 3 most critical ones needed especially if their blogging is for business purposes.

One does not simply write a post and be done with it.  From the get go, you should know your niche, this is very crucial for your success.  People will tell if you don’t know what you are trying to convey.  Yes, you will learn more as you go, but you want to be careful how you com across to your audience.

There are 3 most important factors to keep In mind for a successful blog.  Don’t miss out by not heeding to these important tips.

1)- Blog speed – Blog speed is very important and you need to also understand that just because you see it loading fine on your end doesn’t mean it’s all good.  You could be loading a cached version on your browser.  Blog speed can also play in an important role on how much traffic you’re getting or not getting.

To check your blog speed and find ways to those speed issues, check out GTMetrix.com and see how well your site is doing.  GTMetrix.com not only shows how well your site is doing, it also shows what can be done to improve your site’s load speed.

Without traffic, there’s no signups or conversions.  Without those, there’s no business.  This is a serious issue to realize that is why I listed Blog Speed first.

If you are using wordpress, there is a plugin you can use to help with those speed issues, it’s called WP Super Cache found in the wordpress repository.  It’s easy to setup.  This plugin even gives you a option to click on to delete cache if you feel your site is running slow.  In wordpress it’s located at the top of the screen (after installed).

Another issue that can affect your load speed is any files you have on your website that can either be deleted or reduced in size.  PDF files, Ebooks, anything you provide available to download.  You’ll want to see if anything can be done about oversized files.

Build your website

2)- Blog design – This is another very important factor to consider.  I’ve left many a site simply because I did not like how it looked.  You can tell if someone put effort into creating a very niche and structured website.  There’s a lot that goes into the design of one’s blog or website.  Everything from color, navigation, layouts, menus, post styles and more.  The more effort you put in, the better your readers will approve.  Having it eye catching makes a big difference.

As for color though, just because you like and prefer a specific color doesn’t make it right for your site.  You should pick from colors that are the most preferred online.  I found a good source online from wordstream.com that shows how to pick a good color scheme.

Remember, your website or blog is like your store front or business on the internet, would you enter a building that looks like it needs a major upgrade?  This is your home base on the internet, create it with pride and enthusiasm.  Your efforts will shine through to those landing on your website.

You also want to make sure that your blog or website is easy to navigate.  You want to make it easy for your readers to find what they are looking for.  This can be a real turn off and you could lose visitors because of this.  As per example, make it easy for your readers to find the opt-in box to sign up for your newsletter.

Long domain names is another design flaw to avoid.  You want your readers to enter a short quick and easy domain name to get to your site.  Domain names as an example like Iloveaffiliatemarketingonline.com (not a real site) may seem like an easy name to type in but it’s long.

3)- Blog conversion – You want to get as many conversions (sales) as possible.  Let’s face it, do you want to spend a lot of time writing and writing and not getting anything for your efforts?  Of course not.  If you are blogging to make money than this factor should be really important to you.  You need to learn what it takes to get the point across to your readers.

Just because you can blog, doesn’t mean that you are doing everything correctly.  If conversions is a problem, be willing to expand your knowledge and find how to improve this issue.   In the beginning, conversions should be low as you are new.  But as time goes, they should be improving as you improve with your knowledge and skills.

You don’t want to let all your hard work go down the drain for feeling frustrated and end up giving up for the lack of conversions.  This happens all to often with those who put a whole lot of effort in and got nowhere.

Conclusion.

These were the 3 most crucial factors to consider with your blogging efforts.  If you have already taken steps to deal with these three issues, and you still are not getting anywhere, then there could be something else effecting things or perhaps there was something wrong with the improvements you did put into place.

Never assume that “you got this!”  If you are failing to make conversions, there’s a reason why.  It can be anything from poor color scheme, poor speeds, choice of niche, and poor SEO.  These were just a few of the possibilities of many that can bring about low or no conversions.  The sooner you can get past these issues, the better it will be for your bottom line.
