How To Start A New Career

Looking for a new career can be both scary as well as challenging.  The best way to start a new career is picking it up as a side job and let it grow as you go.  This way you still have an income coming in while your real interest grows on you.  If you don’t have a full or part time job and have no over head, this opens a wide range of opportunities for you to consider.  If you are not open or interested in going back to school, then fear not you still have lots of options awaiting you.

The only other issue is how soon do you need the income?  If time is not an issue, and you have the time to build a new career, then there are many options open to you.

Here are some options to consider:

  1.  Advancing in your present job
  2. Cashing in your experience for a better job
  3. Become an Affiliate Marketer

Preferred option is:

The option I am really focusing on is of course becoming an Affiliate Marketer.  With this option, you’re open to endless possibilities.  There are many companies out there needing people like you to sell their products.  No boss hovering over your head cracking their whip to get you to perform.

Here are some tips to keep in mind about starting in Affiliate Marketing:

  1.  Choose your niche wisely
  2. Consider how much competition there is
  3. Research your desired Niche

Know your Niche.

You can’t know too much information about your niche or company.  You’re better off picking a Niche with less competition.  A Niche like weight loss can have you fighting for years to get anywhere with such fierce competition.  Once you pick what Niche you are interested, research which company and products you are most interested in.  Doing Research is your key starting point.  You have to do this part before you can even begin to dive into an Affiliate Marketing business.  Too many people fail at Affiliate Marketing because of a lack of research.

Is Time Your Friend.

How much time do you have to devote to the business?  If you have at least 1 or 2 hours a night, you have time.  In the beginning, that is all you need.  Don’t let your current job keep you sidelined.  Now if you don’t have a job and feel you don’t have any money to apply to the business, you can solve that by getting a part time job and set aside some of that money for the business.  Okay, how much money is needed you ask?  That depends on your goals.  After you take some free lessons and/or premium courses, any money you payout would be towards advertising, or necessary products to either give out as free samples or sell.  Granted in the beginning you’d be keeping your expenses low.  Now if you are told that you need to cough up a sizable amount to purchase a product base or if they use the words “it costs money to start any business”, then my advice is “Run!”  You should not have to do that.  You should be aware that there are some business opportunities out there referred to as “distributorships” which are not the same thing as affiliate marketing.  They can at times be attached to a pyramid scheme.  I’d avoid these.   Some of these businesses can have really good products, but it’s very hard to build that kind of business.  I would not recommend these types of businesses especially if time is an issue with you.

Advantages of Affiliate Marketing.

It’s very hard to beat these advantages, but as an Affiliate Marketer, you set your own hours, choose your company/product to promote, & Independence.  It’s a lucrative and low cost business opportunity.  No expertise required as you learn and grow as you go.

What’s the Catch?

There’s really no catch, but there are some disadvantages to be aware of.  It can take a while to get established.  Not all Affiliate Partnerships are created equal.  One may not be as good as another.  You have no control over your commissions and the prices of the products.  Unless you create your own products, the products are not yours but someone else’s that you are selling.  There can be a lot of competition, which is why I said to know your Niche before jumping in.
