Back to the basics

Back To Basics In Affiliate Marketing

Things can take unexpected turns with anything, including business.  If you’ve been hard at it, doing everything you’ve learned and it seems like nothing is happening or even at a rate you were expecting, then perhaps it’s time to dial down a bit.  Yes, dial down.  You may be “lost in your efforts” trying to move your business forward.  When this happens, there is only one course of action to take.  It’s time to get “back to the basics” and concentrate only on the basics.  Yes, you may be scratching your head thinking “well, that’s what I’ve been doing”.  Sometimes you have to do a mental “reset” and literally get back to the basics to further your business.  There is a core structure to follow even with affiliate marketing.  Overall, you really only want to do what works.

The Core Structure.

With affiliate marketing, you should only concern yourself with posting, promoting & building your email list.  These are the 3 main functions to be concerned with.  You can add more functions later as you like, but these are the 3 that are if highest importance.  Posting and promoting brings about awareness of what you are offering.  You need these 2 to develop exposure to your website.  Email list building is essential in building a private audience and increasing your chances of making money online.

So, if you are finding that you are not having any progress, then you may need to concentrate only on the core structure and go from there.  The phrase “do only what works” means a lot as you don’t want to overload yourself with other tasks that really add little value to your efforts.

Now, if you are doing something else that is making a difference, the by all means, keep doing it. Just cut everything else out and get back to the basics.

You want to get into a consistent routine with your content that you are posting so as your audience can know when to expect what you are offering.  You should be concerned about the quality of the content you are providing.  It should take roughly 3 to 4 hours minimum to create a post including research.  Don’t be afraid to be your own critic, if it doesn’t feel right, don’t post it.

This is probably even more important than posting to some degree.  While you need to keep your readers up to date, promoting on a daily basis helps you gain exposure to others out there on what you have to offer.  People may not take advantage of a given offer, but they may end up on your website/blog as a result of your promotion and that is just as important.  We all want more traffic.  The more you promote, the more exposure you’ll gain.  See the article below for more information about promoting.

If all you do is publish posts to your blog and never promote, you are not taking advantage of a very powerful option that can really make a difference for your efforts.  You should plan ahead and develop goals for your promoting prior to issuing your promotions.  The promotions I do, go to both email (those who opted in) and social media.

Building Your Email List.

Collecting loyal readers email addresses is essential for you as well as your audience.  This Opt IN option should be added to your website / blog right away.  Don’t underestimate the importance of this option.  It’s your private audience where they can have access to what others don’t have access to.  Any special offers and other content you decide to provide them.  Without this feature, you are basically loosing out on your income potential that you would otherwise have.  Your email list basically puts your website/blog into automation mode.

Learn Earn Realize.

This is the tag line or motto of and there is a lot of meaning behind it.  You have to learn the process in order to make use of it and then to earn from doing the steps you learned.  Then you realize your outcome with the income potential that you have now started to earn.  Affiliate marketing is a business opportunity built on patients and focus.  The beginning is the hardest part, so don’t get demotivated if it seems like it’s never going to happen as it will.  Technically speaking, affiliate marketing is really no different than any other business.  It has a process that you learn, then you put it into practice and then earn from it.  It’s that simple.  This is again, why it’s implied to do only what works, as you don’t want to overload yourself with a lot of meaningless tasks that get you nothing in return.

Remember, there are Merchants and Affiliates and you the affiliate drive traffic to the Merchants website in order to generate sales or leads.  This is a basic interpretation of the process.

Need more support.

Sometimes it’s almost impossible to do it all alone.  The good thing is that you don’t have to.  You have a support system that is basically tapping you on your shoulder saying “Hey I’m here”.  Really, you have a really powerful support system waiting for you to tap into.  Affilorama has a FREE Membership that you can sign up for right now that gives you a ton of support loaded with lots of FREE stuff.  So, whether or not you are still stuck with the tips I just gave you, sign up with Affilorama and have access today!  Remember that the Core Structure I went over is what you need to be concerned with and  if you need any help in this area, Affilorama is a very good source to take advantage of.
