9 Tips For A Successful Holiday Season

The closer you get to the holidays, and if  you are an affiliate of any companies, you should be preparing yourself for the holidays.  It doesn’t matter if you are not in a niche that has anything to do with the holidays, you should be doing something.  If you don’t have a holiday niche, that doesn’t matter as you can still make 30% to 50% revenue is this short 4 to 6 week window.  So, don’t let this time fly away with the snow.

Here are some tips.

Promote promote promote.

This is the most important tip as you want to get the word out to your potential customers as soon as possible and often.  At the very least, you’ll attract attention and get traffic to your website which is a plus.  I’m saying this is the most important as “exposure rules!”

Planning also goes along with promoting as you’ll want to plan ahead and set some goals.  Each year can be different from the previous and you need to prepare yourself.

Well placed links.

Having eye catching affiliate links is important and you should have them throughout your post and not just at the beginning and the end.  Though be careful not to over do it, as having too much can be overkill.  You don’t want to make it look like you’re spamming your visitors.

Mobile Friendly.

You should also have your website or blog mobile friendly as many access the internet through mobile devices.  The days of just using laptops and desktop computers are over.  Though they are still being used, it’s just that there more access options today.

Outstanding Content.

Not that the content you create isn’t compelling, you want to ensure that what you create this time of year is both eye catching and striking that you make an impact to your readers / potential customers for the purpose of leading them to a sale.  If you are a blogger, and I am sure you are, or you wouldn’t be here, you need to realize that you are doing more than just trying to make money online.  You are providing a valuable service to your visitors.  So the content you provide is your property on your blog that should be of great value to both you and your visitors.  Do research and take what you learn and create impactful and problem solving posts.

Affiliate specials.

You want to keep in contact with the companies that you are “affiliated” with and be in the know if any specials are being offered by them so as for you to offer these specials to your visitors.  Many times, companies will have specials available to both help you drive traffic to your company’s website and generate sales.  Most of the time you should receive a newsletter from these companies, but that doesn’t mean you can’t reach out to them to see if there are any.  You can’t offer what you don’t know.

Contests and giveaways.

If you are with a company in which you have products on hand, you can start offering contests and giveaways to your customers to generate more interest and sales.  Again, gong back to what I said previously, you’d need to reach out to your companies to see what their specials are.

Limited time offers.

You could try making available freebies to your audience that they can download.  People love freebies and that attracts attention.  You should visit Timabeck.com/blog on Christmas Eve after 9:30am ET for a surprise.  Can’t promise how long that surprise would available.  There will be a post that goes up on Christmas Eve, be on the look out for it.  See, that’s how simple this can be.

Online presence.

I’ve said this many times in previous posts, you need to start building an online presence if you haven’t already done so.  This is crucial as many of your visitors will follow you as far as your social media is concerned.  Think of social media as moons around your planet (your website/blog).  Many people are involved with social media, and if you want to attract more attention, then you need to make use of it.  I recommend joining such sites as Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Linkedin & Tunblr.  For more information on this topic check out Ultimate Guide To Building An Audience.

Looking ahead.

During the holidays, it’s also a good idea to consider what’s ahead.  While you’re planning for this very special time of the year, also consider the new year ahead.  That is just right around a very tiny corner and you’ll be upon it in a wink of an eye.  Coincidently, that will be the topic of my next blog post.  Just giving you a heads up for this time of year.  Looking ahead is actually something bloggers should be doing all the time.  Plan, set goals and execute should be your overall routine.  Of course, you’ll have to access your outcome now and then.
